Thumbs up for 2010

Since it’s the first month of the year, many people will write or document their plans or goals for the current year and their memories of the past year., Many will reminisce about what happened in the past but will look forward to the future.

I can say that 2010 is a wonderful year for me, I experienced a lot, went to different places, and enjoyed my life even though something sad happened.

Internship at NBN Channel 4 – I may not be able to take my OJT at a magazine company but I’m glad I took my internship training at this government channel. I have learned everything it is to learn about broadcast media. It is also in this that I know the importance of time, of relaxing, of dealing with people and of working.

Papa breathed his last- He was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis and battled with it for six months. I realized in this that family will always be there for each other no matter what, especially during hard times. We stood by each other, we accepted the reality and we move forward together. I miss my Papa.

Manila Zoo with friends – The inner child in me enjoyed the different kinds of animals, the scenery and the whole experience. We even tried boating and it was so much fun.

I enjoy simple things like this, also stuff like carousel ride;

…going all the way to Cavite for a bithday party with swimming;

… going out with family;

… and swimming at friend’s condo unit.

20th Birthday– 2010 also marks the end of my teenage life, I turned 20 and celebrated with family and friends.

MYXMO concert – The first concert I have ever attended. I enjoyed the songs and even sang along with it; the guests who sang and the whole thing. It’s sad that we didn’t finish the show because we were too sleepy so we head home at 2 in the morning. I will always remember this event.

Star City- After six years, I was finally able to set my foot again at this place. I am the kind of person who wants to try everything, so I love amusement parks. I especially enjoyed extreme rides and I promise this will not be my last visit.

We may say that the year that has passed is a best year but we must always believe that every year is and will be a best year. Thumbs up for 2010! Enjoy your 2011. 🙂

  1. Aww. I love your 2010 adventures Mel! Though condolence to you and your family. 😦

    Anyway, I think this could have been better if you elaborated your experiences. It is too short that I feel they just serve as captions to the pictures you posted. Yet, I’m so proud that this is very well-written. No major problems at all. Keep it up! [88]

  2. You have used very simple words to construct your sentences. I don’t think I’ve seen some major errors on your grammar so you’re writing, for me, is commendable. 🙂

    However, I have to agree with Khat. You should have elaborated your experiences more. To sum it in Filipino, the feeling is NABITIN AKO. Although you have presented experiences that are really great, they seemed less great because of the lack of explanation.

    But it’s still a nice piece. This is 92! 🙂

  3. The phrase “I have learned everything it is to learn…” and some others have hanging modifiers and had unclear objects. There are also some spelling errors. Also it appears less of a feature article than simple captions to the huge photos that were uploaded. I am sorry for you losing your beloved Dad. For the effort and the content [89].
